First Baptist Church in downtown Springfield, Missouri, faced acoustical challenges in its traditional sanctuary, making it difficult to maintain high-quality audio for its multi-generational congregation. Music plays a significant role, especially during large-scale productions and choir performances. The church sought a solution that would enhance both speech intelligibility and music reproduction while blending seamlessly with the space's architecture. After exploring various options, Paragon was selected for the project. The focus was on sound reinforcement, ensuring optimal audio coverage in the seating area while maintaining the ability to accommodate live music performances when necessary.
Paragon designed an audio system for First Baptist Church, considering the acoustics and multiple design scenarios. The system featured WorxAudio TrueLine XL1i-P powered line arrays with TL215S subwoofers, providing high-quality sound without altering the room’s acoustics. The design included a center-flown loudspeaker cluster and a choir monitor system. The WorxAudio solution was chosen for its suitability given the church’s specific challenges, such as aesthetics, rigging, and budget. Paragon’s brand-agnostic approach ensured the best performance and value for the project.
